The Witcher franchise has always been one of the most popular games in the world, but it’s also always been known for one specific element that’s rarely discussed: the setting. “The Witcher” is an action-RPG that takes place in a medieval fantasy world called “the Continent”, where the protagonist “Witcher” Geralt of Rivia is a monster slayer. The game is known to be very dark, and many of the characters you meet throughout the single player campaign are not nice people.
Just by looking at the trailer for The Witcher Prequel, you know it’s not going to be an easy watch. With the White Wolf’s teeth chattering, you know that this is going to be a wild ride. You can just feel the excitement in the air when you see the game’s lead game designer, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, giving us the game’s logo (which was pretty cool, by the way). We can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in this upcoming game, which I’m hoping will be the prequel to this incredible series.
If you have been following the Witcher series from the beginning, you will have been familiar with our favorite Witcher from the books, Geralt of Rivia. His is a life filled with adventure, mystery, and a certain amount of fantasy. But what about the world he lives in? What do we know about the world of The Witcher? What do we know about the world of The Witcher if we take a closer look at the upcoming prequel called The Witcher: The Wolf Among Us?

Those who have read Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels or played the video game adaption may recognize Vesemir, the Witcher tutor. The Wolf in the Witcher’s Nightmare revealed a lot more about his character and his previous life. Vesemir began his career as a servant boy when he was a kid, according to the film. Following that, Vesemir was inspired by the Witcher and returned to Kaer Morhen, the Witcher’s school, to learn and become a Witcher himself. He abandons everything for this, even his ladylove Illyana, later revealed to be Lady Zerbst.
Vesemir’s training to become a Witcher, which was a tough process, is also shown in the film. Vesemir, on the other hand, proves to be a strong Witcher, but at a hefty cost. Vesemir has a wealth of resources now that he is a Witcher. He even went through some of the same difficulties as Geralt. Through Vesemir’s previous narrative, the film also focuses on the Witchers’ origins.
